6 Segways operated by trained Brand Ambassadors out and about on the streets of Belfast at various times of the day and week during the month of October. We handed out over 40,000 flyers which resulted in over 200 people taking part in either a Bungee Jump or Abseil raising money for BBC Children in Need. The event raised over £15,000 for the charity.
We also had Pudsey Bear out on a Segway for a PR shot and to raise awareness for the event as well as having him abseil off the BBC Building in Belfast which has been used in news footage 2 years in a row for the campaign.
BackClient: Belfast Chamber of Commerce
Agency: Ardmore Advertising
We were one of a select few promotions taking place during the Tall Ships Festival this year in Belfast. Each day of the festival we had 2 Segways and 2 Brand Ambassadors encouraging people to continue into the city to check out the shopping and attractions available there. Most of the activities around the festival were happening outside the main centre so it was crucial to have a way to tell people about what else the city had to offer. People saw us as tour guides and spent most of the time approaching us instead of us having to approach them.
BackClient: Belfast Metropolitan College
Working directly with BMC we created awareness around their ‘Embracing Enterprise’ event. 4 Seaways were used to hand out chocolate coins and engage with students about attending the event.
Segways were able to circulate throughout town and visit the various campuses to search out students.

I Love Mondays Segways and Brand Ambassadors were used to signpost students to sign up for a Student overdraft at their local First Trust Branch.

They also promoted a very exciting mid-week offer. One result in so far is that they had 15 bookings in 1 day as a result. We had to negotiate the rule of ‘No Flyers’ in Dublin by splitting our time between several smaller towns in Dublin like Dun Laoghaire and Malahide as well as capturing target market at pubs near the venue.

A recent addition to our product portfolio. I Love Mondays were asked to produce 20 recorded Vox Pops of people in Ballymena and Belfast City Centre. We stopped people from various backgrounds to get their opinions on the shopping experience at Junction One. This was then edited and put together on a DVD for the Client to analyse. This was an exciting job which allowed us to see get first hand feel for what people think of advertising and what they’d really like to experience when shopping. We’ll be doing a lot more of this in the months to come.

The National Task Force hired us to promote an under age disco in Bangor called Club Innocence. We used a number of Segways to tell secondary school young people about the event over a couple of weeks. The Segways were an excellent way to grab the attention of teenagers and a way to cover a lot of ground in a short period of time. We tailored the promotion to be in key areas at the time when most students would be on the move and easily identified.
